Halford Hewitt Competition
St Bees fielded a strong team once again, ably captained by Adrian Peckitt.

 
The Cyril Gray 2023 (Tuesday 20th June - Friday 23rd June)
Our Cyril Gray (over 50s) campaign this year was as enjoyable as ever, but unfortunately unsuccessful. We were well beaten 3/0 by Canford in the first round (their team including one off +1.5 and one off 1).  We were fortunate in that we didn’t have to play in the Plate in the afternoon, Wrekin being unable to raise a team. On Thursday, in the quarter-final of the Plate, we lost to the eventual winners, Merchant Taylors’ 2 ½ to ½.
  
Rossall, were once again this year’s winners of The Cyril Gray – no doubt with coaching from Stuart Hemmings! 

The pre-tournament dinner is now firmly established and provides a wonderful opportunity to bump into friends old and new (if you could only remember their names) – with St Bees established as the best dressed team. 

We are now ‘calling all 50 year olds’ to reinforce our team and start a new era.

Queen Elizabeth Coronation: 15-17th September 2023 at the Royal Burgess Golf Club.
